Steve Coutereel 

A graduate of the Royal Ballet Academy of Antwerp, Steve Coutereel began his professional career at the Royal Ballet of Flanders. Seeking to expand his repertoire, he continued his artistic journey at Le Ballet du Nord in Roubaix, France, before making his way to the United States.

In 1995, he joined San Francisco Ballet, under the direction of Helgi Tomasson, where he refined his mastery of the Balanchine repertory. He then embarked on a three-year collaboration with the renowned Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, exploring the works of Nacho Duato, Twyla Tharp, and Daniel Ezralow.

Coutereel later joined Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal as a first soloist, where he performed for five seasons, interpreting roles by legendary choreographers such as Kenneth MacMillan, Mats Ek, Stijn Célis, JiÅ™í Kylián, and Ohad Naharin.

Following a distinguished performing career, he transitioned into the role of rehearsal director, a position he held for seven seasons. In 2020, he was appointed Artistic Coordinator at Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, further contributing his expertise to the artistic development of the company.
